Imagine walking into a patient’s room expecting routine care - only to be met with a reality far worse than what’s written on paper. Diabetes was just a word to me—until I witnessed its disabling, deadly impact on nearly 1 in 10 people in the U.S.
This firsthand, lived experience changed everything. An attitude and mindset of fierce determination was born - It inspired me to shift from my original path of pursuing a career as a pediatric surgeon to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®).
In 2018, Jenkins Public Health Consulting® was founded to help health-focused organizations and businesses design and delivery of health programs, strengthen community trust and secure FUNDING. ON. REPEAT - without solely depending on grants!
